DELAND — City Hall will be closed until at least noon Monday due to a lightning strike.
The lightning strike Friday rendered the building’s air-conditioning system inoperable. Crews have been working this weekend to repair the air conditioning system, according to a new release from the city.
Until the system is fixed, however, the city is planning to bring portable units to City Hall and anticipate reopening the first floor, which includes utility billing, planning and building, at noon.
Utility bills due Monday and Tuesday will be extended until 8 a.m. Wednesday
The second and third floors will remain closed until Tuesday.
Further updates will be provided if necessary.
