Behind the MPEC under a few trees an Angel of Hope memorial honoring children lost too soon was unveiled Saturday.

The memorial was inspired by Lauren Landavazo, who was murdered two years ago, and all children who were lost too soon.

The ceremony started with a prayer and Vern Landavazo spoke about the process of healing after losing his daughter and bringing the Angel of Hope to Wichita Falls.

Parents like Debbie James also spoke about their loss and how talking with their neighbors and other parents who have lost a child has helped her grieve.

The group that brought the Angel of Hope said they hope the memorial will be a place where people can go for healing.

At the end of the ceremony white roses where given out to those that lost someone close to them. Many people placed the roses on and around the memorial.
