Papastathopoulos latest

09:36: Arsenal’s deal for Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos isn’t finalised yet, the German club’s sporting director Michael Zorc claims.

Reports claimed the Gunners have agreed a £16m deal with the Bundesliga giants for the Greece international.

Dortmund chief Zorc says Papastathopoulos isn’t an Arsenal player just yet.

“It tends to go there, that's right. But things are not completely finalised yet,” Zorc told German outlet Revier Sport when asked if Papastathopoulos is heading to north London.

“And I will not work with you now and talk about the rumour mill, which includes 27 new BVB players since the end of May.”

Emery calls Banega

97:50: Unai Emery hass contacted Sevilla star Ever Banega personally over a potential move to Arsenal.

Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo report Emery is desperate to sign the Argentinian this summer.

Banega has played under the Spaniard at Sevilla and Valencia in recent years.

They claim Emery has made a personal phone call to the 29-year-old in a bid to tempt him to the Emirates.

Torreira hint

07:00: Lucas Torreira has dropped another hint that he is set to join Arsenal soon.

The Uruguayan midfielder has been linked with £26.4million move to north London from Serie A side Sampdoria.

Torreira liked a post on Instagram of a picture of himself with a friend with the caption ending ‘#Arsenal’.

Twitter user @OsmanZtheGooner then personally messaged Torreira’s friend quizzing the post and asking whether the player was set to join the club, which she did not respond to with a written reply. But she did like the question - suggesting her answer was yes.

Having been inundated with excited Arsenal fans in the comments on the post, the hashtag was later removed from the post.
