Celebrate Canada Day 2018 in the communities surrounding Edmonton

Several of Edmonton's surrounding communities have events planned for Canada Day.

Looking to do something different to celebrate Canada Day 2018? How about taking a short road trip to one of the several communities surrounding the capital city to take part in a new celebration?

Canada Day in Sherwood Park  

Enjoy a pancake breakfast hosted by the Canadian Progress Club: 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Sherwood Park Chamber of Commerce parade: 10 a.m.

Farmers Market: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Lord Strathcona’s Horse, Royal Canadians will be on site from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Free activities, Sports Zone with football toss and games

Fireworks: 11 p.m.

Where: Broadmoor Lake Park

Canada Day in Fort Saskatchewan

Enjoy a pancake breakfast in the Legion parking lot (9945 93 Ave.): 8 a.m. – 10 a.m.

Car show & shine downtown streets: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Canada Day Parade through historic downtown: Noon

Food vendors: 12:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Main stage performances: 2 p.m. (with Canadian Scott Helman on stage at 9 p.m.)

NWMP Fort Tours: 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Cake & ice cream Legacy Park: 2:30 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.

Fireworks at Rotary Amphitheatre: 10:45 p.m.

Canada Day in St. Albert

St. Albert Legion Pancake Breakfast: 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.  (6 Tache Street)

Coca-Cola Kids’ Zone Daytona Homes Family Fun Zone Adventure Zone: 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. (Free event)

Live music: 11 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.

Fireworks: 11 p.m.

Canada Day in Leduc

Pancake breakfast at the Legion: 10 a.m.

Canada Day parade: Noon (Main Street)

Canada Day barbecue: 12:30 p.m. (Leduc Legion)

Canada Day family activities at the Leduc Heritage Grain Elevator: 12:30 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Canada Day Block Party St. Peter’s Lutheran Church: 12:30 – 3 p.m.

City of Leduc Canada Day outdoor concert: 7 p.m. (LRC East Parking Lot)

Fireworks: 11 p.m. (Lede Park)

Canada Day in Beaumont

Family activities including Canada Day cake, inflatables, live music, Indigo Circus, magician Chris Gowen, food trucks and a LEGO building workshop: 2 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Kin Club Beer Gardens and BBQ: 2 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Fireworks: 11 p.m.

Canada Day in Spruce Grove

The Knights of Columbus host a pancake breakfast for the first 2,000 visitors 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Live music and entertainment 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Circus workshops  10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Introduction to wool workshop 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Fireworks Display 11 p.m.
