Several fire crews responded to a garage fire in the Lower Hutt suburb of Kelson on Monday night.
Several fire crews responded to a garage fire in the Lower Hutt suburb of Kelson on Monday night.
A team of fire fighters quickly extinguished a garage blaze in Lower Hutt before it could cause further damage to the property.
Emergency services were called to the property, on Waipounamu Drive, Kelson shortly before 7pm on Monday.
A Fire and Emergency spokesman said the garage was well involved when the four fire crews arrived with the house under threat.
The 'well-involved' garage fire was quickly brought under control.
The fire was swiftly extinguished, but crews remained at the scene dampening down hotspots and undertaking salvage work.
No-one was injured in the fire. The cause of the blaze was not yet known, he said.
