A Gaylord man is planned to be put on trial for a murder of a man whose body was found dumped in Gratiot County.
Joseph Robert Zoran, 37, was arrested in March in the death of 67-year-old Robert Jack Counterman Jr., whose last known address was in Gaylord and whose body was found in a trash bag in Seville Township.
A preliminary examination that took place Friday in the Otsego County District Court was waived by Zoran on behalf of his attorney Warren Wahl.
Waiving the preliminary examination means the case will head to the county’s circuit court, starting with an arraignment.
No date or time has been set yet for the arraignment.
These court dates cover both of Zoran’s cases, the one count of open murder and the other being for three counts of possession of child sexually abusive material.
