CCL’s Swachchhta Carnival infuses best sanitation practices

Upholding the vision of a “Swacch Bharat and Swasthya Bharat” (Clean India and Healthy India), Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) organized a Swachchhta Carnival in its headquarters, with Governor Draupadi Murmu as the Chief Guest on Saturday. The Carnival was arranged keeping in mind the Swachchhta Pakhwada that has been going since June 16.

Students from more than 18 schools and educational institutes participated in the carnival with clear message of cleanliness. The awareness programme was lead by the youths of the nation drew praise of everyone. The event was manifested through colorful, creative, cultural; acts, attire and art by the youths of Jharkhand.

“CCL will be the model of ‘Swachhata’, which will be an example for other institutions. The mission that the Prime Minister has taken up to create ‘Swachchh Bharat’ by 2019 i.e. 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi cannot be achieved without creating awareness among the public. But thanks to the works and initiatives of CCL, who has taken the onus of achieving this goal in Jharkhand,” said the Governor on the occasion.

“As responsible citizen we should come forward to make India clean and to develop our way of thinking, accordingly. In Jharkhand every child has potential like MS Dhoni and Deepika Kumari and credit to CCL for providing these kids with opportunity and resources to harness their potential,” added the Governor while admiring CCL’s CSR projects in the field of Sports.

Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD), Gopal Singh, talked about the awareness that has been spread among the children of the city and applauded them on their enthusiasm to take part in the various campaigns and events that have been taking place to encourage the civilians to do the same.

“It is our Prime Minister who has taken the stride to fulfill the dreams of Father of our Nation i.e. Mahatma Gandhi of ‘Clean India’ and CCL will not leave any stone unturned to achieve this dream,” said the CMD while addressing the gathering. Later, the Governor administered the ‘Swachhata Oath’ to everyone present during the awareness program.

Other than the Governor and the CMD, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Ram Tahal Chaudhary and Member of Legislative Assembly (Kanke), Jitu Charan Ram were also present as the special guest of the Carnival. Director (Personnel), RS Mahapatro, Director (P&P), VK Srivastava, Chief Vigilance Officer, AK Srivastava, CCL employees, students along with public in large number witnessed the carnival.
