VARANASI: Police in
Chandauli booked three boys, aged between six and eight years, under sections of IPC and POCSO Act for allegedly sexually assaulting a two-year-old girl. However, investigation revealed that the girl sustained injuries in her private part while playing.
Reports said a man of a remote village reached Chakarghatta police station on June 21 along with his minor daughter and accused three minor boys of his village for sexually assaulting his daughter and two other boys as conspirators.
Chandauli SP Santosh Kumar Singh said, "On noticing injuries on the private parts of the girl, Chakarghatta cops immediately lodged an FIR. The girl was sent for medical examination in which no internal injury was found." On Friday, the police went to the village in search of the accused. "The accused named in this case are six to eight years old boys. It surfaced that around nine children, including the girl and her elder brother and sister, were playing with mud outside their house," Singh said.
"While playing they put mud in the undergarment of the girl. The latter fell on ground several times due to which some stones in the mud caused injuries on her skin near private parts. It seems the children had no intention of any
sexual assault," he added.
