Dayne Winter / Global NewsSaskatoon police have detained several people as part of an ongoing assault investigation.
Officers originally attended to a call on the 900 block of Duchess Street to respond to an assault complaint. The complainant told police he was assaulted and the suspect tried to stab him with a knife.
That information led police to a house on the 600 block on Duchess Street. Police restricted the area to vehicle and pedestrian traffic just before 11 a.m. Sunday morning due to a belief firearms were in the residence.
In a release, police say that several people have been detained as a result of the investigation. A sawed off shogun, sawed off .22 rifle, a large amount of marijuana and some cash were all seized from the residence as well.
The investigation is ongoing. The 600 block of Duchess Street is once again open to traffic.
