DPR not to exclude any project: V K Prasanth

The City Corporation has not excluded any projects in the detailed project report (DPR) for solid waste management, said Mayor V K Prasanth.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The City Corporation has not excluded any projects in the detailed project report (DPR) for solid waste management, said Mayor V K Prasanth.

Rejecting reports, the Mayor said the DPR is being prepared to expand the existing projects in this regard. The Corporation is working on source-level solid waste management system.

Based on the Corporation’s policy on solid waste management ‘bio compost kitchen bin’ would be set up extensively. As per the DPR, 50,000 bio compost bins would be set up. Of which the 15,000 bins to be set up with Corporation’s fund. Already, 8,500 kitchen bins have been set up, the Mayor said.

To manage the solid waste at public places, the Corporation aims to set up aerobic bins.
