F1 Drivers' World Championship 2018 standings: Points table after French Grand Prix

LEWIS HAMILTON has overtaken Sebastian Vettel in the F1 Drivers' World Championship standings.

Lewis Hamilton has reclaimed his place at the top of the F1 Drivers' Championship following a confident display in the French Grand Prix.

The Mercedes star has leapfrogged Sebastian Vettel who was holding onto a narrow lead in the points table.

Vettel was involved in an incident with Valtteri Bottas in the opening lap which saw the German slapped with a five-second penalty and effectively killed off his hopes of challenging Hamilton.

Daniel Ricciardo has moved up the rankings, with Bottas losing ground despite a good comeback drive after the early crash.
