KISSIMMEE — Mitch Nay went 3-for-5 and right-hander Tommy Bergjans allowed one run over six innings as the Daytona Tortugas beat the Florida Fire Frogs 6-1 on Sunday.

Nay hit an RBI single and Daniel Sweet drew a bases-loaded walk in the fourth inning to put the Tortugas up 2-1 and Daytona never trailed again.

The Tortugas later added three runs in the seventh and one in the eighth. In the seventh, Tyler Stephenson and Ibandel Isabel drove in one run each, while Randy Ventura hit an RBI single in the eighth.

The Tortugas (40-30, 3-1 second half) pounded out 12 hits, led by Nay's 3-for-5 performance. Ventura, Bruce Yari and Isabel had two hits each. The Tortugas also struck out 11 times, however.

Bergjans (1-0) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on five hits over six innings while striking out six. Opposing starter Tucker Davidson (4-6) took the tough loss in the Florida State League game after allowing two runs and seven hits over five innings.
