Raj Babbar celebrates the latter’s birthday

State Congress workers, especially those close to UP Congress chief Raj Babbar celebrated the latter’s birthday at the UPCC headquarters and other parts of the state on Saturday. 

Surprisingly, a function organised to remember Sanjay Gandhi on his death anniversary on Saturday too a backstage, with dozens of leaders led by veteran leader Pramod Tewari and Ram Krishna Dwivedi garlanding Sanjay Gandhi’s portrait and remembering his contribution towards war against dowry, saving environment trough plantation, population control etc. 

After paying homage to Sanjay Gandhi, all leaders except Tewari, came out of the hall and celebrated Babbar’s birthday. Colourful helium baloons and five pigeons were released to spread the message of peace. Later sweets were distributed amongst leaders and workers. Sources said that while no hoarding was put by to remember Sanjay Gandhi, hoardings were put up wishing Babbar on his birthday. 

Meanwhile, UPCC general secretary, Vinod Mishra organised a block-level meeting at Gosainganj on Saturday. Mishra claimed that party workers exposed the failures of Modi government and their hollwo promises with locals. 

The party will also hold chaupals to learn about problems of the villagers and take up the issue with the government to resolve them. 

Mishra said that the Congress would continue its fight for farmers, youth, women and poor till their demands were not met. 

Youth Congress (Central) chief, Ankit Parihar said that his unit would organise `Bharat Bachao Andolan’ on Tuesday to expose the Central and state governments’ failures.
