PATIALA: Police have booked a 28-year-old man for setting the cars of his neighbours on fire. One of the cars belonged to a sub-inspector posted at Samana. The person has been booked for endangering life of others, mischief, and other sections of the
Indian Penal Code.
The police said the accused was on his way home and when he reached near his house, he could not find a road clear and hence got stuck. “He continuously honked but no one heard. The man got furious on this and asked his family members to go inside the house. “He took out petrol from his motorcycle to set the cars of his neighbours on fire.
“He put the fuel over the cars and then set them on fire. Meanwhile, the neighbours came out. A brawl started between the accused and the neighbours after which the accused managed to escape the spot. The neighbours said that the accused was under the influence of liquor and thus had turned furious,” the cops said.
The accused was finally nabbed on Saturday evening.
“The accused burnt my two cars. He tends to quarrel over petty issues with his neighbours and almost everyone in his vicinity was unhappy with him,” said a complainant.
