Man killed by own truck in freak accident at Woodford Show, north of Brisbane
Updated

A man has died after he was run over and killed by his own truck at the Woodford show, north of Brisbane, last night.
Emergency services were called to the showgrounds on Neurum Road at Woodford just before 9:00pm, after reports a 58-year-old man had been struck by a prime mover.
Members of the man's family witnessed the accident, ambulance officers said.
Police said initial investigations indicated the man had been reversing the truck near the cattle yards within the showgrounds in preparation for loading cattle.
Officers believe he slipped while getting out of the cabin and fell under the wheels of the truck, which was still moving.
Witnesses performed CPR on the man and a rescue helicopter was dispatched, but he died at the scene.
Police forensic officers attended the scene of the accident overnight and the prime mover has been taken away for further investigation.
The ABC understands the 58-year-old man was well known at the Woodford show, having provided the cattle for the rodeo event over a number of years.
The annual two-day Woodford show had been coming to a close when the accident occurred, with people busy packing up after the final fireworks and rodeo.
