Six Maoists arrested, arms seized

A joint team of Dhabad and Giridih police alongwith CRPF have arrested six members of the CPI (Maoists) including two women cadres on Friday late night and also sized several weapons from their possession. Presenting them before media here on Saturday, SP Surendra Kumar Jha said ASP Deepak Kumar and Dhanbad Rural SP Aashutosh Shekhar and other police officials with the help of CRPF personnel conducted search operations in Harladih forest area following specific information about the movement of CPI (Maoists) members.

When the search party was returning after finishing the operation on Friday around 9 pm, the police spotted that all six members of CPI (Maoists) including two women cadres were on Bolero jeep moving fast towards forest area of Harladih within limits of Pirtard police station. Though the police asked them to surrender but all six rebels were trying to flee from the scene. However, the police nabbed all six Naxalites, the SP said.  

The arrested members have been identified as Devan Handsa, Praveen Rao, Sunita alias Rajani, Babita alias Salina, Ramesh Murmu and Govind Yadav .One pistol ,2IED ,25 Detonators ,65 power jel 2 cartridges one Bolero jeep, Cash Rs 1lakh 31thausand and arty literatures have been seized from their possession.

The arrested Naxalites were allegedly involved for recruitment of new member in the rural areas and they also have provoked them against police personnel. This is a major success in the anti-insurgency operations carried out by the Giridih and Dhanbad police.
