Naveen Patnaik on Saturday advised newly-recruited
Odisha civil service officers to strengthen the public delivery mechanism for the betterment of people at the grassroots.
"The state government has accorded the highest priority to the public delivery system and through sincere efforts during these years, a stable and responsive administrative framework has been put in place, which you would be required to carry forward flawlessly," Naveen said while welcoming the young officers to the base level of state administration.
The
chief minister handed over appointment letters to 145 civil service officers who will join the Odisha Administrative Service, the Odisha
Finance Service and the
Odisha Police Service. The officials will be appointed in different block offices, treasury offices and police sub-divisions.
The CM reiterated his 3T mantra for the young officers. "Encouraging team spirit, ensuring transparency and effectively using technology to provide last mile delivery of service to people has been the talisman of our administrative system," he told them.
Naveen further said the focus of the state administration has been to bring improvement in the quality of life through an effective governance.
"To achieve this, all of you need - with determination, dedication and devotion - to address the problems of the common people ensuring their faith in our delivery system," he said.
Naveen said the process of recruitment to the Odisha civil service has been streamlined and is conducted regularly every year to take in fresh young people.
Revenue minister Maheswar Mohanty, who also attended the function, highlighted the priorities of the state government and its commitment on last mile delivery. The revenue minister urged new officers to work dedicatedly for a prosperous Odisha.
