A Shiromani Akali Dal?Bharatiya Janata Party joint delegation on Tuesday visited the PGIMER here and inquired about the health of two forest officials who were assaulted by the sand mafia in

Majri block of Mohali yesterday.

The delegation, which was led by SAD senior vice-president Daljit Singh Cheema and BJP General Secretary Organisation Dinesh Kumar, inquired into the health of block forest officer Davinder Singh who was seriously injured in yesterday’+ char(39) +’s assault and had to undergo head surgery this morning. They also interacted with the family members of the two forest officials.

Dr Cheema said it was pitiable that Davinder Singh was lying in a miserable condition on a stretcher in a corridor of the surgery ward at the PGIMER when the delegation called on him. He said Davinder’+ char(39) +’s close relative Ramnik Singh informed the delegation that the state government had not even tried to get a room earmarked for Davinder for his recuperation and that they were being pressurized to get Davinder discharged.

Following this, both Dr Cheema and Dinesh Kumar spoke to the PGI Director and asked him to arrange a room for Davinder to ensure his speedy recuperation.
