BENGALURU: Two people were killed on the spot while another was injured after their speeding car toppled on the National Highway-48 and fell on a plot of land in Nelamangala on Saturday morning.
The deceased are Sridhar (24) and Puneeth (26), who hail from Holenarasipur in Hassan. They were working in the city and were staying in a rented house at Chikkabidarakallu.

A senior police officer said the accident occurred at 5.30am near Entaganahalli village when three of them were going to their native place to attend a family function. Sridhar was driving his car when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into barricades on the road side. The car toppled on the road several times before coming to rest on a farm land.

Two of them were thrown out of the car due to the impact and they died on the spot. Villagers rescued Mohan, who was stuck inside the car. He was admitted to a private hospital and is critical.
The three were working as cab drivers for a private taxi service for the last four years.
