A Wichita Falls man is accused of purloining a baby crib from the front porch of a woman who subsequently discovered it for sale on Craigslist the same day.

Roger Kyle Neal, 53, of Wichita Falls has been charged with theft under $2,500 with two or more previous convictions. He is also charged with five counts of forgery-financial instrument in sealed indictments.

Neal was being held Friday on $10,000 in bonds in Wichita County Jail. In addition, he has a Texas Department of Criminal Justice detainer. He was booked into jail Monday.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit:

A woman reported packages swiped from her front porch in the 6000 block of Sandy Hill Boulevard on Sept. 10, 2015.

The same day, she discovered the baby crib stolen from her front porch posted for sale for $175 on Craigslist.

The Craigslist poster told police Neal gave her the crib and told her to put it up for sale online.

When patrol officers took the crib from her, they found the victim’s name and address on the box it came in.

The victim provided a $197.60 invoice for the crib and a Paypal receipt for $209.75 for towels that had also been taken from her porch.

On Oct. 14, 2015, Neal’s father gave an officer hand towels he found in his son’s truck when cleaning it out.

When Neal was arrested in North Richland Hills, the truck he was driving was impounded. Neal had been driving the truck registered to his father for several months.

The truck was released to the father.

Neal has four previous theft convictions, including two for theft over $50, but under $500 on Nov. 5, 2010.
