Pillion riders’ safety: Free helmets distributed

Springing a pleasant surprise on pillion riders of two-wheelers here, the Motor Vehicles Department(MVD)  and  Freedom Riders’  Club, a bikers’ collective  distributed  50  free helmets.

KOCHI: Springing a pleasant surprise on pillion riders of two-wheelers here, the Motor Vehicles Department(MVD)  and  Freedom Riders’  Club - a bikers’ collective - distributed  50   free helmets  to create awareness ‘every  life is  precious’. Aster Medcity was also part of the campaign.The helmets were distributed at Marine Drive, Bolgatty Junction and  Cheranalloor Junction  to the utter delight of the two-wheelers with pillion riders which passed through the stretches where the campaign was organised.

 Shaji Joseph, Deputy Transport Commissioner, Ernakulam  inaugurated the campaign by distributing helmets  in the presence of  MVD  officers  and  members of Freedom Riders’ Club. Speaking on the occasion, Shaji Joseph underscored the importance of pillion riders wearing helmets since they encountered as much or even bigger threat to life as the one riding/driving the two-wheeler.MVD officers Biju Issac , Vinodkumar ,  Aster Medcity  Asst GM (Branding )Chanjal Gangadharan, actors Niyaz and Druv  were  present. 

50  free helmets distributed
Fifty helmets were distributed at Marine Drive, Bolgatty Junction and  Cheranalloor Junction
