BENGALURU: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Friday took Parashuram Waghmare, suspected to be one of the prime accused in journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh's murder case, to RR Nagar to recreate the crime scene.

Sources said Waghmare was made to ride a bike. He was the sixth to be arrested in connection with the murder. This is the second time that SIT has tried to recreate the scene. Another accused Naveen Kumar was also made to ride a bike.

Sources said the scene was created as it would bring more authenticity to the probe. The videos and photos will be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). "We already have the footages of the killers and the FSL analysis will help the probe," a source said, adding that Waghmare was taken to the room in Sunkadakatte where he stayed before reportedly killing Gauri. SIT will seek extension of his custody which will end on June 25.
