Nagpur: Thieves targeted an ATM outlet in Rajura district of Chandrapur and decamped with Rs5.83 lakh cash on Sunday between 2.30am and 4am. The miscreants used a gas cutter to break the ATM machine before stealing the cash.
Cops said, CCTV cameras installed at the ATM outlet were not functioning since more than a month. “The thieves were experts as they clearly knew how to break the ATM machine with gas cutter and where the cash is kept,” they added.
It is learnt that the cops had done patrolling near the ATM at around 2am but didn’t see the cops.
Senior PI of Beltur police station Ashish Upase said that the cops are suspecting involvement of more than two people in the theft.
