Join hands to solve issues in Church: Mar Alenchery

KOCHI: The faithful should work together to solve the issues being faced by the archdiocese, Syro-Malabar Church Archbishop Cardinal Mar George Alenchery has said. “We should reach unity through faith and try to become matured,” he said while delivering introductory message at the installation ceremony of Bishop Mr Jacob Manathodath as the Apostolic Administrator of Ernakulam-Angamaly Archdiocese at the St Mary’s Cathedral Basilica here on Saturday.

“The Church has bestowed a major responsibility on me. I will strive to restore peace and unity in the Church. I am honoured to work as a tool to bring back unity in the Church. I pray to the Lord to help me make the archdiocese stronger and enable the spiritual growth of the Church,” said Mar Manathodath in his speech.

Apostolic Nuncio to India Giambattista Diquattro read the message of Prefect of the Congregation for Oriental Churches Leonardo Cardinal Sandri. Curia chancellor Fr Antony Kollannur read the order from Vatican appointing Mar Jacob Manathodath as the Apostolic Administrator. Varapuzha Archbishop Joseph Kalathiparambil, Bishops Mar Sebastian Adayantharath, Mar Jose Puthenveetil, Mar Thomas Chakiath, Fr Sebastian Vaniyapurackal, and others were the co-celebrants in the Holy Mass said by Mar Manathodath.
