New Mundka-Bahadurgarh metro corridor opens on Sunday

Commute between Mundka and Bahadurgarh will become an easy feat for commuters as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is set to throw open the section for public from Sunday.

The DMRC said on Friday that services will start on the 11.8-km extension of the Green Line (Inderlok/Kirti Nagar to Mundka) from 4pm on Sunday.

“Commercial services are likely to commence on the Mundka-Badadurgarh metro corridor from 4pm on Sunday,” a DMRC spokesperson said.

Sources from the Metro said it is likely that the section will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from his office via video call, while Union urban development minister Hardeep Puri and Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar will participate in the inaugural ceremony in the Haryana part of the section.

The corridor will have seven elevated stations in total, of which four will be in Delhi and three in Haryana.

These will be Mundka industrial area, Ghevra, Tikri Kalan, Tikri Border (Delhi) and Modern Industrial Estate, Bus Stand, and City Park (Haryana). After the completion of this corridor, the entire Inderlok-Bahadurgarh section will become 26.33 km long.
