A 28-year-old South Florida woman suffered an unknown medical condition and was pronounced dead Saturday morning after being rushed to a local hospital, lifeguards said.
Sometime around 8 a.m., Volusia County Beach Safety and Ocean Rescue responded to the 600 block of North Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach after someone saw the unconscious woman near a seawall, said Capt. Mike Berard, a Beach Safety spokesman.
Police and lifeguards preformed CPR and the woman was transported to Halifax Hospital where she was pronounced dead, Berard said.
Details of her medical history and her cause of death will be investigated by the Medical Examiners Office, according to Beach Safety.
