Bharuch: Many government officers are corrupt and for the sake of their own vested interest, they are harassing the industrial units by raising various issues, Bharuch member of parliament Mansukh Vasava said on Saturday.
The parliamentarian was speaking at launching of tree plantation drive at Ankleshwar organized by the local industries association. “Many entrepreneurs have complained to me about some of the bureaucrats who don't understand that industries give employment to tribals and needy people,” Vasava added.
“I have made representation on behalf of the industries to the chief minister twice. Once at Ankleshwar and another at Dediapada. I told CM that Ankleshwar GIDC is much better equipped than any other industrial estates in the state. The situation here has improved a lot in the past few years. But certain officers have a negative approach and create unnecessary problems for the industries,” he said.
“If we do not expose such corrupt bureaucrats or politicians, we cannot resolve the issue. By not speaking we will be rather be encouraging their act,” Vasava said.
Vasava also defended his statement in Dediapada earlier this month about teachers consuming liquor.
“I am a fearless politician. When I speak the truth it creates trouble for many. Recently, I spoke about teachers of Dediapada consuming liquor and questioned how they can impart education to students. My comment was taken otherwise and several representations were made against me. But I don’t care as I speak the truth. I have witnessed good things done by the industries of Ankleshwar, hence I am with them,” the MP said.
