Jewellery store manager steals 10 kg gold

Police on Friday cracked the Bhavya Jewellers’ missing gold biscuits case and arrested Dinesh Kumar Soni, the manager of the showroom. A whopping 10 kg gold worth `3 crore was seized from him.

NELLORE: Police on Friday cracked the Bhavya Jewellers’ missing gold biscuits case and arrested Dinesh Kumar Soni, the manager of the showroom. A whopping 10 kg gold worth `3 crore was seized from him. Disclosing case details to mediapersons, Officer on Special Duty (Crimes) TP Vitaleswar said Dinesh, a resident of Koramvari street in the city, stole the gold over a period of three years while working as a manager for Bhavya Jewellers.

“He stole gold as he wanted to set up his own shop. He wanted to make jewellery from the biscuits and use it as the principal investment for his proposed shop,” he explained. The management of Bhavya Jewellers, which noticed that gold had gone missing during audit,  lodged a complaint with Santhapeta Police in April and the case was soon transferred to Nellore Crime Police.After over a month of investigation, the cops zeroed in on Dinesh and recovered the stolen gold from him.
