Ardee City to get direct power lines soon

Gurgaon: After protests held in the beginning of this month by residents of Ardee City, Sector 52, against the builder’s practise of providing electricity through a single point connection — which didn’t meet the demand and for which the builder charged them an additional 12% service tax and 18% GST — residents on Friday started filling forms for direct connections, which would be released to them in a months’ time by DHBVN, after which they’ll be billed as per discom slabs.
Following the protests, discom officials had commissioned a survey of the society before going ahead with the proposal of issuing new meters.

Ardee City is home to 20,000 residents. The builder is currently distributing electricity through a single point connection of 5MVA, against a demand of 22.23MVA, as assessed by DHBVN in 2014. “Residents will now be charged Rs 2,500 for a new meter. The builder would charge us Rs 20,000 for the same,” Praveen, a resident, said.

A release from the discom confirmed the move.
