4-member committee to probe Goa Hospicio hospital fire: Rane

A fact-finding committee has been formed to investigate the fire that broke out in the Hospicio Hospital in yesterday evening, Health Minister Vishwajit said today.

The committee comprises the state Health Secretary, Dr Sanjiv Dalvi, Medical Superintendent of Dr and (Health) Dr Rajnanda Desai, informed.

The fire had engulfed the second floor of the hospital, operating out of a Portuguese-era building, in South district and had gutted the hospital's facility.

No one was injured in the fire that broke out around 5:45 pm as the patients had already moved out of the floor by 4 pm, medical authorities had said yesterday.

The fire was doused within half an hour, officials had said yesterday.

Rane, who visited the hospital today, said that the committee will submit a report on the fire to Chief Minister
