Mira Rajput can’t sleep because there’s someone alive and kicking inside her

Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Rajput is pregnant with their second child, and on Friday night she posted an Instagram story about being kept awake by the feeling of having a living, breathing being inside her.

“You know when you feel like you have butterflies in your stomach,” she wrote, “Now think of two hands and two feet in there, with hiccups. At 2 am. Party.”

She ended the post with the hope of getting a good night’s sleep, despite the discomfort.

Shahid was expected to be performing at the ongoing IIFA Awards, being held in Bangkok, but had to cancel his plans at the last moment because of the injury.

Shahid on Friday shared a picture of the two of them together, hugging. Mira, meanwhile, shared a picture of their daughter, Misha, whom she noted looks exactly like her father.

Shahid and Mira announced their second pregnancy in April. They were married in 2015 and had Misha in 2016.

Mira, speaking about being a stay-at-home mom, courted controversy when she seemingly dismissed working mothers for leaving their children behind. “... I love being at home, I love being a mother to my child, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I wouldn’t want to spend one hour a day with my child and rush off to work. Why did I have her? She is not a puppy, you know. I want to be there for her as a mother, seeing her grow up has, cannot be quantified,” she said.
