Vadodara: Police have formed three teams to nab Hitesh Chauhan, who stabbed his girlfriend to death, on the night of June 21 at New Alkapuri on Sevasi Road.
Cops said they sent teams to likely hideouts of Chauhan. One team has been sent to his native village in Kalol taluka of Panchmahal. A police official said they are also trying to nab Chauhan using his mobile phone location, but his phone has been off since the crime.
Chauhan, who used to work as a watchman at a bungalow in Grassfield Society in New Alkapuri, had affair with Navina Vasava, who had been working at another house in the society for several months. On the night of June 21, Chauhan went to the servant quarters of the house where Vasava lived. The duo had heated arguments after which Chauhan allegedly stabbed her.
Vasava was found in a pool of blood by her friend who had come to meet her, after Chauhan had fled. Police said that when her friend reached the spot, Vasava was alive and said that Chauhan had stabbed her.
Vasava was rushed to GMERS Medical College and Hospital and was later referred to SSG Hospital. She succumbed at SSG Hospital.
