A housewife suffered injuries after being assaulted by a man and his two sons over an alleged land dispute at B.B. Kaval, K.R. Pet taluk, of the district.
The victim, who is middle-aged and a resident of Bandihole, has also alleged that she was molested by Kale Gowda, 60, and his sons Chethan, 30, and Praveen, 28, near her land.
The incident occurred on Thursday and a complaint was lodged on Friday. The trio is absconding and efforts are on to trace them, the K.R. Pet Rural police said.
According to the victim, she had a dispute with the accused persons pertaining to a piece of land. All the three, along with some others, rushed to the land and assaulted her. The incident took place in full public view. The accused assaulted and molested the victim before threatening to kill her. However, some other people who were at the spot rescued the woman, the police, quoting the victim and eyewitnesses, said.
One of the witnesses filmed the incident on his mobile phone and shared the clippings. The police will check the background of the accused and initiate action against them.
Meanwhile, the local villagers have urged the police department to open history-sheets against the trio besides booking them under the Goonda Act, 1985. Investigation is on.
