TIRUPUR: It looked like a compliment, but the state school education minister K A Sengottaiyyan’s remarks likening his cabinet counterpart Udumalai Radhakrishnan to a ‘loyal dog’ has left the latter squirming and party cadres wondering if there was a hidden meaning.
At a function at Palladam in
Tirupur on Friday, Sengottaiyyan said it was animal husbandry minister Udumalai Radhakrishnan’s loyalty that has fetched the cabinet berth.
“If there was one animal that doesn’t betray, it is dog. It was because of his loyalty, that Amma (late chief minister J
Jayalalithaa) made him housing minister then,’’ Sengottaiyyan said.
Even as Radhakrishnan squirmed in his seat on the dais, Sengottaiyyan continued: “He is continuing with the same loyalty even today. He is not just loyal, but has dedicated his entire life for the party.’’
