Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday asserted that the State would witness unhindered development only if one party comes to power by winning consecutive elections. Otherwise, the State would plunge into a crises, he apprehended.
Addressing the anganwadi teachers and helpers at the Praja Vedika, where they gathered to thank him for increasing their salary, Mr. Naidu said there were some politicians making impractical promises, and people should elect them at their own peril.
Mr. Naidu exhorted the gathering to drive home the message that his re-election was needed if the State was to have a better future.

Mr. Naidu said the Central government had dealt a severe blow to agriculture by implementing irrational policies. The GST and demonetisation ruined the economy, he added.
He observed that the State government did its best for the people’s welfare in spite of the financial crunch and non-cooperation of the Central government in the last four years.
He further said that the anganwadi teachers and helpers played a crucial role in the State’s fight against malnutrition in children and they should not spare any effort in continuing the good work.
Minister for Women and Child Welfare Paritala Sunitha said the salary hike was a great thing to happen for the anganwadi teachers and helpers who had been asking for it for a long time.
They would be indebted to the Chief Minister, she added.
