KOLKATA: Five people died in three different road accidents in Malda district of West Bengal on Thursday.

Four people died in Kamalpur and Gita More under Methabari police station whereas one person died in Kadubari in Gazole.

Alleging non-function traffic control system, locals manhandled on-duty one police and two civic volunteers and staged a dharna for half-hour.

In another incident, 12 people were injured after a Digha-bound bus turned turtle in Belda in Paschim Medinipur district on Thursday. The injured are being treated at the hospital.
