Police have launched a murder inquiry in Chelmsford

Police were called to house in Cromar Way in the town just before 1am and found a man suffering serious knife wounds.

The victim, in his 40s, was rushed to hospital but pronounced dead about an hour later.

Police have sealed off three areas of Chelmsford as part of their murder probe

Three men, aged 40, 53, and 59, and a 53-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The 53-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs.

Forensics teams gather evidence as part of the Chelmsford murder probe

Detectives and forensics specialists are carrying out searches in Central Park in the town and an alleyway near Meteor Way as well as at the murder scene.
