It keeps one’s body fit and gives mental peace, he says

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Thursday yoga had been a part of the Indian lifestyle for ages and the entire world was following the rich legacy these days.

Participating in the International Yoga Day event at the Praja Vedika near his residence at Undavalli, Mr. Naidu said it was an exercise that keeps one’s body fit and gives mental peace and insisted that it should become a part of everyone’s daily routine.

Mr. Naidu and others performed yoga postures for an hour under the guidance of trainer Padmaja.

Ministers Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and Prathipati Pulla Rao, MLC A.S. Ramakrishna, AYUSH commissioner P.A. Sobha and additional director A. Purushottam and Government Ayurveda College principal Venugopal were among those present.

Vijayawada airport director G. Madhusudhana Rao led the event in the premises. He stressed the benefits of yoga and exhorted everyone to practice it on a regular basis.

Confederation of Indian Industry-Young Indians (Yi) Amaravati Chapter and Indian Women Network (IWN) with the support of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) organised the yoga session.

Around 100 participants from industry and youngsters took part. VMC Commissioner J. Nivas participated as the chief guest.

CII Vijayawada zone vice-chairman P. Ravi Kiran, Yi Amaravati chapter chairman Bhaskar Nannapaneni and K Suresh, a trainer from Art of Living, were present.
