Child trafficking racket busted; 2 arrested, 6 minors rescued

The (SSB) today claimed to have busted a child-trafficking racket in district with the arrest of two persons and rescued six boys.

"Acting on a tip-off, we conducted a search operation yesterday evening, along with a number of child rights bodies, close to the Indo-border. At about 7 pm, we noticed two middle-aged men moving towards the station along with the six children", Sanjit Samajhdar, SSB, said.

Both the persons were detained. During interrogation they revealed that the children were being taken to where they were to be employed as workers in a toy factory, Samajdhar said.

The duo was subsequently taken to station where a case was registered against them under the Child Labour Act, the said adding that all the six children have been handed over to Child Line,
