Tirupur: A 38-year-old woman labourer has sustained serious injuries after a co-worker stabbed her multiple times on Thursday.
The victim, R Pushpa Rani of Panappalayam in Palladam, was bringing up her daughter after her husband died a few years ago. “She was working in a knitwear unit in Vidyalayam. She had requested Raj, 38, of Chengalpet, who was also working in the same unit, to help her to get a job. She had gone out with Raj on Thursday evening. When they reached near the district collectorate, a dispute arose between them and Raj stabbed her multiple times using a knife. He then fled from the spot,” a police officer said.
Pushpa Rani was rushed to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital with serious injuries. TNN
