The F1 circus arrives in Le Castellet with the World Drivers’ Championship delicately poised after a ding-dong battle between Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel over the first seven races.
Vettel currently leads by a solitary point after a flawless drive to victory at the Canadian Grand Prix last time out while Hamilton could only finish fifth.
The Constructors’ Championship is a little more one-sided thanks to Valtteri Botas’ consistency and two Kimi Raikkonen retirements: Mercedes lead Ferrari by 17 points.
