After 37 years, Ann and Ben Epp are scaling back operations.
For almost four decades, The Strawberry Ranch has been a mainstay on Saskatoon's Valley Road. Every summer, hundreds of happy pickers scoured the grounds, filling baskets with the sweet, red fruit.
Now, the couple say they want to spend more time with their family.
"Growing strawberries in Saskatchewan has had its challenges, but it has definitely been our passion," wrote the couple in an email.
"We are very grateful to all of the people who have shared in this with us over the last 37 years in Saskatoon."
The couple still plans to open its corn maze on August 1.
It will also continue to sell frozen Saskatoons and berry pies.
