Germany held “crisis talks” after their shock 1-0 loss against Mexico but striker Thomas Mueller has denied reports of disharmony within the holders’s camp.

When asked about the disharmony rumours Bayern star Mueller said: “Is that confirmed? Do you have a source? No? Ok. In 2012 we didn’t have great chemistry, but that’s not the case now.”

Germany face Sweden in Sochi needing a win to give them a chance of qualifying from group F. The Swedes are joint-top of the group after their victory against Korea Republic.

Mueller says that the German team now needs to “raise their game” in the final two group matches. He told Goal.com: “We need to get back to being prepared to walk that extra mile. That’s it. What is important now is that we look ahead to the two major tasks lying ahead of us in this group. The heat is on.”

After coming on as a sub against Mexico Marco Reus could be handed a starting spot for the clash with Sweden, the London Evening Standard reports. Mesut Ozil’s place is under threat, says The Sun, after his poor display against Mexico.
