PANCHKULA: Five men have been arrested for allegedly getting into a drunken fight with the staffers of a resort in Morni and firing in the air to intimidate them around 2.30am on Thursday.
In his complaint, the owner of the resort has alleged that the accused — Mohali resident Sahil (22), Kurukshetra resident Amit (25),
Karnal resident Inder (27), and
Sonipat residents Manoj and Ranjit — came to his property in a drunken condition to have dinner around 1am.
They started drinking while having dinner. They then started dancing while playing music on their phones, according to the complaint. Though staffers of the resort asked them to stop, they did not, it has been alleged.
When staffers called the manager, they got into a scuffle with him and Sahil took out a pistol and fire in the air twice, it has been alleged. The workers of the resort then rounded up the group and called the police. A team from Chandimandir police station reached the spot around 4am and started investigations.
The SHO of Chandimandir police station, inspector Suresh Kumar, said they had carried out a preliminary probe and arrested the accused in the evening. They have been booked under the Arms Act and on charges of attempt to murder, voluntarily causing hurt, and criminal conspiracy of the
Indian Penal Code at Chandimandir police station.
The resort had opened for business four days ago.
