What can we say when a life is lost? George Richard Curry, age 72, of Economy, passed peacefully with the love of family and close friends. He was born November 20, 1945, in Zelienople, Pa., to the late George and Grace Forrest Curry. He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his brother, Dennis. He was a loving husband to Judy; a wonderful father to Denise, Richard and Brian; and a supportive father-in-law to Rodney and Tricia. He was known as poppy to his grandchildren, Brittney, Alex, Bryanna, Nathaniel, Brian, Derek, and Jack and great-grandchildren, Jacob and Kevin. George served honorably in the U.S. Air Force and completed one tour in Vietnam. George was the consummate entrepreneur. Not satisfied with the corporate world, he sought to make the world more beautiful by going into stained glass where he was able to build new and restore works of art in churches and homes throughout southwestern PA. He was loved by many and had interests in Economy Borough youth baseball while always being true to his love of the outdoors as an avid sportsman. He will be missed. God is good and George is now home surrounded by peace. The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME INC., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. Family and friends will meet Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Concord Presbyterian Church, 2832 Conway Wallrose Road, Economy, where a funeral service will be conducted by Dr. Dirk Lesnett. Interment with full military honors will be held at Locust Grove Cemetery, Ellwood City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Associations or the Coastal Wildlife Club, http://www.coastaIwildlifeclub.org/ for support of sea turtle nesting.
