Officials tight-lipped on Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami-Suresh Prabhu meet

CHENNAI: Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhu visited Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami here on Thursday.

The meeting at the CM’s official residence on Greenways Road here lasted for about 15 minutes, official sources said.

Palaniswami was stated to have handed over to him a memorandum containing the State’s demands. But officials did not divulge details of what transpired at the meeting.

Water released from Papanasam

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Thursday ordered release of water from Papanasam, Servalar and Manimuthar reservoirs into Tamirabarani river for irrigation from June 24 to October 21.
Totally, 20,729 acres in Ambasamudram, Nanguneri, Tirunelveli and Palayamkottai taluks would be benefited, an official release said.
