Mobile medical unit to visit villages under health mission

LUDHIANA: As part of its efforts to make health services accessible to all Ludhianavis under ‘Tandrust Punjab’ mission, the health department has released a schedule of mobile medical unit (MMU) which will provide health services in villages under jurisdiction of Koom Kalan community health centre (CHC) from June 22 to 30.

Civil surgeon Dr Parvinder Pal Singh Sidhu said this MMU would provide health facilities in villages including Chak Sarwan Nath on June 22, Prithipur on June 23, Rajool on June 25, Borre on June 26, Bhamian Kalan on June 27, Bhukhari Kalan on June 28, Budhewal on June 29 and Rayan village on June 30.

The civil surgeon said MMU would have a doctor, a medical officer, a laboratory attendant, X-ray technician and counsellor. He said whenever MMU would visit a new village, a public announcement would be made so that most of the villagers can be benefitted.

He said the MMU facility had been started by Punjab government to provide health facilities in those areas which lack health facilities. People of district Ludhiana are getting most of the benefits of this facility.

Apart from the health service, this unit also provides an awareness regarding pro-people health schemes.

Dr Sidhu appealed to people to get most of the benefits of this facility.
