Kasturba Hospital gets advanced CT scan machine

Sudarshan Ballal, Chairman, Manipal Health Enterprises, inaugurated an advanced new generation 128-slice Philips incisive CT machine in the Department of Radio-diagnosis at Kasturba Hospital here on Wednesday.

Dr. Ballal said the latest developments in radio diagnosis and imaging had provided considerable relief to patients compared to olden days when the diagnostic tests used to be primitive.

The doctors are able to diagnose diseases better and it helps in giving better and appropriate treatment to patients. Advancements in radio diagnosis is one of the most helpful mankind had achieved so far, he said.

H.S. Ballal, Pro Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) said MAHE and Kasturba Hospital were committed to providing world class care to patients including the economically challenged.

The installation of this state-of-the-art incisive CT scan machine displayed its commitment to the society. With its installation, diagnostic imaging will become far better with increased efficiency, diagnostic confidence and improved workflow, he said.

H. Vinod Bhat, Vice Chancellor, MAHE, said it was a proud moment that signalled the collaborative research between Philips and MAHE. “High quality images will be obtained at a faster rate striking a balance between high performance and work flow efficiency. The machine will be open for the public in a few days after the completion of licensing formalities,” he said.
