Liverpool transfer news: Nabil Fekir was wanted by Arsenal, Barcelona now confident
LIVERPOOL target Nabil Fekir was also wanted by Arsenal - but Barcelona are now reportedly confident of winning the race for his signature.
Liverpool have been pursuing Fekir all summer and, while a transfer has collapsed, a move to Anfield could yet happen.
The France international is currently in Russia on World Cup duty but the saga surrounding his future looks set to continue when the tournament ends.
Liverpool pulled out of a deal due to concerns over Fekir’s long-term knee problems but the player’s agent has since revealed a transfer is NOT dead in the water.
Yet Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo say Barcelona and Arsenal are also in the mix.
It is said the Gunners were keen to sign Fekir, though Liverpool then gazumped them.

With the Reds stalling, though, Unai Emery may capitalise by making the 24-year-old his first marquee signing at the Emirates.
Mundo Deportivo say Barcelona, though, are now confident of winning the race.
It is said they feel their ‘magic’ may be enough to edge out both Premier League clubs.
They supposedly admire Fekir for his speed, technical quality and goalscoring ability.
And they also feel his versatility could be a vital asset due to the fact he can operate either in a No 10, No 9 and No 8 role.

As well as Fekir, though, Barcelona are also monitoring Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Like Fekir, he is currently on international duty at the World Cup.
Manchester United and Juventus have both been tipped to snap him up over the past few weeks.
But, if Barcelona miss out on Fekir, they may pursue the Lazio superstar instead.
