Sandra Peterson, J&J’s No. 2 the past six years, plans to retire from her post on Oct. 1. Ms. Peterson, 59 years old, had led J&J’s efforts to turn around its consumer-health business struggling with recalls. More recently, she had been overseeing a rejiggering of J&J’s medical-device business.
